About the role

Bring your experience to support a team that’s building transmissions and gearboxes that thrill our customers and redefine the way the world flies. This role will be an integral part of the team, helping execute day-to-day manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities

• Assign, manage, and direct the daily manufacturing activities of up to 25 union-covered employees within your assigned area to attain economy of operations, maximize throughput, and ensure profitable production of parts.
• Work with Process Engineering and Quality to identify process improvement opportunities that improve overall efficiency while reducing defects that lead to scrap and rework.
• Oversee safe and efficient assembly operations.
• Conduct employee disciplines when necessary, managing in accordance with the local production union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Provide metrics-driven accountability for performance: earned hours, efficiency, schedule, overhead, and overtime charges.
• Achieve objectives in a matrix work environment and work effectively with multiple functions (such as Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Quality, etc.).

Requirements

• 5 years of manufacturing, assembly, or military experience preferred.
• Must be an empowering team leader who encourages growth and development.
• B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or equivalent experience is preferred; in lieu of degree, 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Effective interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organization skills.
• Goal-oriented and data-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
• Capable of leveraging modern business systems and have basic computer skills.
