Front Line Leader
Responsibilities
- Provide first level of supervision to approximately 25 hourly union employees working rotating shift at a single recycled paper machine.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures.
- Report all safety incidents and lead incident investigations.
- Accountable for swiftly completion of audits and reports documenting activities that occur during the shift.
- Lead safety improvement and other change management with production crews.
- Lead engagement efforts with production crews.
- Lead relevant Deliberate Improvement efforts with production crews, like sheet break downtime prevention, 5S, housekeeping, etc.
- Hold the crew accountable for completing all rounds (sheet break prevention, basic care, quality audits, warehouse conditions and inventories, etc).
- Paper mill shutdown day preparation and execution.
- Manage lockout/tagout for routine and emergency work.
- Set appropriate goals and expectations to meet OME and quality goals.
- Hold team members accountable for basic work expectations, operational upsets, deviation from accepted standards.
- Conduct one-to-ones with every crew member at least twice per year.
- Support mill training plans.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in paper manufacturing.
- Degree in Chemical, Paper, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Able to work extended hours and non-scheduled hours as needed.
- Strong sense of ownership and urgency.
- Clearly visible leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification Requirements: 2 years of experience in paper manufacturing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Chemical, Paper, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
