Front-End Sr. Engineer

About the role

A global financial-services organization is seeking a Front End Engineer to develop and enhance enterprise trading applications. The role focuses on building high-performance desktop applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving engineering best practices in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise desktop applications using Java.
• Build responsive, high-quality user interfaces and integrate with back-end services.
• Collaborate with product, UX, QA, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Evaluate and adopt modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding solutions.

Requirements

• Strong experience developing Java desktop applications using Java Swing.
• Experience with Spring Boot, JDBC, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Solace Event Broker.
• Experience with Maven, Git, Jira, and Agile development practices.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Knowledge of TypeScript, Redux, responsive design, and web performance optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, AWS, Docker, or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, or similar.
• Experience within financial services or trading technology is a plus.

Pay

$136,000–$175,000 annually. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
