Front End Lead

About the role

The Front End Lead, Ecommerce serves as the liaison between staff and management to ensure the Front End Department and its ecommerce operations run efficiently. This role reports to the Front End Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising the Front End team to ensure optimal performance and guest experience
• Oversees prompt and accurate fulfillment of online orders through platforms such as Instacart and Mercato
• Answers inquiries about online orders and provides product information
• Confirms and locks customers’ orders and communicates fulfillment timelines
• Handpicks items from customers’ lists, scans using a handheld mobile device, and processes payments via cash or card
• Collects cash, checks, or charge payments and provides change or vouchers as needed
• Verifies employee discounts, returns, exchanges, and voids
• Ensures accuracy of cash bank by counting cash, checks, and charge payments at the end of each shift
• Processes and monitors currency orders to maintain cash availability for transactions
• Maintains an accurate safe count and operates a cash recycling machine
• Documents and communicates overages, shortages, sales data, price changes, and technical or price discrepancies to managers
• Orders and monitors inventory of Front End supplies
• Returns carts and baskets to distribution areas, handles go-backs/damages, fixes displays, and assists with restocking
• Conducts regular inventory checks with Retail Department Heads to update digital platforms
• Delegates tasks, motivates, trains, and mentors Front End Cashiers to support their development
• Documents, investigates, escalates, and resolves employee or guest incidents
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience as a supervisor in a retail setting, with experience leading a cashier team preferred
• Ability to handle money accurately and perform mathematical calculations
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Intermediate computer skills
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting

Pay

$21 per hour.
