About the role

The Front End Lead provides oversight and leadership to front-end operations, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service. You will lead front-end associates, ensuring a seamless and efficient checkout process, training new associates, and overseeing their development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cashier transactions and customer service desk layaway transactions, including monthly layaway audits.
• Train and empower cashiers to use the cashier script and educate customers on company programs such as the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
• Assist cashiers by running a register to ensure smooth front-end operations.
• Maintain margin bins to optimize product visibility and organization.
• Communicate professionally with associates and customers, offering load-out assistance and coordinating with Outside Recovery Associates.
• Execute accurate cash management, returns, layaways, exchanges, and price dispute resolutions.
• Set up and manage tax-exempt customer plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Deactivate EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) devices or spider-wrapped products as needed.
• Research cash shortages and take corrective action to address shrink.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent loss and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Respond to incoming calls with professional phone etiquette.
• Complete daily paperwork, including bank deposits and safe audits.
• Maintain popcorn and coffee stations to meet customer demands.
• Order necessary store supplies for optimal front-end operations.
• Oversee the Buy Online Pick Up in Store (BOPIS) process, including customer interactions, store fulfillment, and weekly audits.
• Use office equipment such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments.
• Engage in learning initiatives like training programs, workshops, and webinars.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external inquiries.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of retail cashier or retail supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Ability to review and analyze information, identifying errors or inconsistencies.
• Excellent communication skills to implement policies, direct staff, and provide customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.
• Flexibility to work a 40-hour workweek with varied hours, including days, nights, and weekends as business dictates.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to actively listen, ask relevant questions, and provide thorough responses.
• Strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
• Able to navigate and access all facilities.
• Skill to effectively communicate verbally in-person and via electronic devices.
• Close vision for computer-related activities.
