We are seeking a Front Desk Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising front desk staff as well as greeting our guests and ensuring they have an exceptional experience. Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio, HOTEL PASEO offers guests a distinctive desert retreat featuring 150 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, many showcasing breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and palm-lined landscape. Guests can unwind by our resort-style pool and on-site spa, explore the area on complimentary bicycles, and enjoy inspired dining at Larkspur Grill, Lemon Drop Pool Bar or Café Paseo. Located along world-renowned El Paseo, our boutique hotel places guests steps from premier shopping, art galleries, acclaimed restaurants, and vibrant nightlife while serving as the perfect gateway to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.
Responsibilities
- Supervise front desk staff, reservations, and bell staff as needed, ensuring all daily functions from checklist are completed
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel
- Check guests in and out of rooms
- Input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests
- Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs
- Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts
- Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management
- Maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory, hotel, front desk, customer or guest service experience preferred
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the front office for extended periods
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English
- Capability to accurately input and manage information using a computer system
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Visual and auditory awareness to detect emergencies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
