Front Desk Receptionist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and volunteers with professionalism and compassion
  • Check patients in and out; verify demographics, eligibility status, and required documentation
  • Ensure forms and consents are complete and properly documented
  • Collect payments or donations at time of service following cash-handling procedures
  • Answer and route phone calls appropriately
  • Submit complete follow-up scheduling requests to the Centralized Scheduling team
  • Perform clerical tasks including scanning, uploading, and distributing documents
  • Maintain front desk and lobby organization and cleanliness
  • Uphold HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality
  • Escalate patient concerns or issues as appropriate
  • Support volunteers or students assigned to front desk operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Basic computer proficiency to include Windows, MS Office, and the internet
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), both written and verbal, is required per operational need.

About the Role

The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors, volunteers, and community partners in a clinic operating under a centralized scheduling model. This role focuses on patient check-in and check-out, registration accuracy, payment collection, phone support, and ensuring a welcoming, organized, and patient-centered front desk experience. This position may require travel between clinic locations to support operational and patient care needs.

Physical Requirements

The ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds is required for this position.
