Front Desk / Patient Check-In Representative

Job Summary Birmingham OB/Gyn is seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Front Desk / Patient Check-In Representative to join our team. The front desk is often a patient's first interaction with our practice, so we are looking for someone who understands that excellent customer service, accuracy, and professionalism matter. The ideal candidate is welcoming and compassionate while also being able to work efficiently in a busy medical office environment. Primary Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrivalCheck patients in and verify demographic and insurance informationUpdate patient information accurately in the electronic health recordCollect copays, balances, and other patient payments as appropriateComplete necessary registration and consent documentationAssist patients with questions and direct them appropriatelyCommunicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient arrivals and scheduling concernsAnswer and route telephone calls as neededMaintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirementsHelp maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming front-office environmentWork in Phreesia to verify patient information is up-to-date and accurate Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious medical office or healthcare experience preferredExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detailComfortable using computers and electronic health record systemsAbility to multitask in a busy environmentProfessional appearance and communication skillsDependable, punctual, and team-oriented What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people.
