About the role
The role of Front Desk Assistant at Express Care, formerly Urgent Care, involves supporting the clinical service or practice operations under close supervision. This position requires performing administrative and clerical duties related to patient visits, including greeting and assisting patients, answering telephones, filing materials, processing billing forms, and handling various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients.
- Answer telephones and assist callers with routine inquiries.
- File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
- Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical records/LMR.
- Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
- Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed.
- Handle, screen, and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, referrals, and verify registrations for accuracy.
- Monitor patients in the waiting room and respond to any needs for information.
- Absorb and assist in patient flow processes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma related field of study preferred.
Qualifications
- Administrative Assistant or Secretarial Experience 2-3 years required.
