Front Desk Clerk

Location: Dumfries, VA

Pay: $17.50 hourly

About the role

The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex destination in Dumfries, Virginia. The resort features a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, meeting and event spaces, a 50,000+ square foot gaming space with over 1,650 Historical Horse Racing machines, and over 80 acres of green space. The resort generates an estimated $35.5 million in annual tax revenues and employs more than 500 team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Greet and register guests via a centralized registration system.
• Coordinate with the housekeeping department as needed.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions; maintain accurate paperwork related to front office operations.
• Resolve minor guest issues as they arise.
• Check and balance daily figures, post room and tax charges on guest accounts.
• Deliver items to guests as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
• Obtain and retain required license(s).
• Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble, loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the department.
• Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
• Report any acts of wrongdoing of which you may have knowledge.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous front desk experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal communication skills in person and by phone.
• Ability to multitask and function professionally under pressure from guests and supervisors.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25-50 pounds.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Virginia Racing Commission License.
• Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
