Front Counter Sales - Part-Time

About the role

Join our team of Sales Associates at Curtis Lumber's Ballston Spa store. You'll be responsible for maintaining the store's front end, handling customer interactions, and meeting sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of the main store and front end
• Intercepting and handling phone calls from prospects
• Building quotes and orders for pick-up or delivery
• Aiding customers with their needs
• Engaging in face-to-face, phone, and electronic sales
• Utilizing exceptional customer service and sales skills
• Maintaining knowledge of the building materials marketplace and product features
• Effectively suggesting upgrades and add-ons
• Effectively closing sales
• Following up on quotes to orders
• Sharing expertise with colleagues
• Participating in discretionary profit sharing after one year of employment

Requirements

• Comfortable engaging in face-to-face, phone, and electronic sales
• Exceptional customer service and sales skills
• Knowledge of the building materials marketplace and product features
• Ability to meet prospect customers' needs
• Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add-on sales
• Effective closing techniques
• Quote follow-up and quote to order conversion skills
• Discretionary profit share after one year of employment

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for building materials and customer service

Pay

$18 - $21 per hour, with annual performance-based raises.
