About the role

Drive sales and profit in the Meat Prepared Food and Freezer/Cooler area by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, in-stock and inventory levels, budgeting, and forecasting sales. Assess economic trends and community needs, review club financial reports (e.g., profit and loss, operational income statement), and manage product and labor ordering and scheduling based on analysis results.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enforce Sam’s Club Meat Prepared Food and Freezer/Cooler standards by evaluating finished product packaging and in-stock conditions, comparing products to published standards, and removing substandard items from display.
  • Train and hold associates accountable to sanitation and department standards, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Evaluate and improve club in-stock and fresh production planning, perform equipment reviews, and manage adherence to standards, specification guides, and recipe guides.
  • Oversee backroom organization and product layout on the sales floor.
  • Review current club Fresh performance (e.g., sales, production planning, food safety) and identify gaps between projected and actual results.
  • Manage Fresh area processes to close performance gaps, ensure food safety compliance (e.g., FDA, OSHA), and implement process improvements to meet financial goals.
  • Enforce food safety standards, cold chain compliance, and merchandise quality by evaluating temperature, storage, sanitation, date coding, product rotation, and recalls.
  • Train associates on food safety standards, sanitation, and expectations.
  • Create and monitor budgets for sales, expenses, and wages, ensuring department staffing levels align with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth opening and closing procedures, communicate merchandising opportunities, and address scheduling or associate issues.
  • Plan production, labor, and execution for major events (e.g., holidays, seasonal demands) by reviewing production plans, adjusting schedules based on member traffic, and comparing projected vs. actual results.
  • Improve member experience and relationships, request Club of the Community (COTC) merchandise, and train/schedule member service associates to support membership growth.
  • Supervise and develop associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and fostering a belonging mindset.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, mission, values, and ethics, including supporting the Open Door Policy and promoting continuous learning.
  • Build high-performing teams, embrace diversity, and create opportunities for associate growth and performance.
  • Work collaboratively, build trusting relationships, and communicate with impact to motivate and influence.
  • Attract and retain talent, empower development, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.
  • Maintain integrity, ethics, and compliance, support Walmart’s regenerative goals, and participate in local giving and sustainability efforts.

Requirements

  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • 2 years of retail profit and loss (P&L) statement management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food Service management experience.
  • Retail Fresh experience.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $95,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
