Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality product to customers.
  • Obey all safety and sanitation regulations as per NetCost policies.
  • Process, package, and stock meat products according to NetCost Market Standards.
  • Train all new meat associate staff.
  • Properly wrap, scale, and label product.
  • Maintain accurate pricing of all products.
  • Ensure all meat-related products are stored at appropriate temperatures.
  • Use all equipment properly as per NetCost Market safety policies and procedures.
  • Train and develop new and existing employees in all aspects of the job, such as stocking and merchandising, sales and service, record-keeping, and department-specific tasks.
  • Practice safe food handling procedures.
  • Receive, store, cut, and grind meat of various types.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
  • Perform duties in accordance with NetCost Market policies and standards.
  • Complete all applicable department training programs.
  • Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving, code-dating, preparing, storing, price-marking, scaling, and restocking products to ensure quality protection, accuracy, and product rotation.
  • Be knowledgeable in and able to differentiate between all various types of meat and related merchandise, including preparation for sale to customers.
  • Contribute to controlling the freshness and quality control of the product.
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
  • Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance regularly and report any failures immediately.
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalency degree.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Experience with meat cutting.
  • Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and solve problems.
  • Able to work well with others as a team member.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A passion for serving people.
  • An attention to detail and organizational skills.
