About the Role
Assist the Fresh Sales team with all aspects of the department, with a primary focus on buyer and procurement assistance. The role involves extensive interaction and communication with retailers, vendors, and the sales team.
Responsibilities
- Assist Buyers in all procurement aspects, with primary responsibility for creating purchase orders (POs) and assisting member retailers.
- Contact brokers, vendors, and sales representatives for departmental information needs.
- Create promotional (Excel) documents related to item and category information as requested by the Senior Buyer or Sales Manager.
- Enter store orders into the system and re-bill out-of-stocks or reship products.
- Submit and research store credit requests.
- Track and monitor purchase orders and SSO (Special Service Orders).
- Create on-demand reports for Buyers and Category Managers on a daily basis or as needed.
- Assist in billing back manufacturers and vendors for appropriate charges.
- Move daily store orders as needed to support retail service levels.
- Communicate with the corporate traffic department and suppliers via email or phone.
- Perform other duties as required by the Sales Manager or Senior Buyer.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching from floor level to six feet in height, walking, writing, sitting, and climbing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced Excel and Access knowledge.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strategic thinker who identifies opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and mainframe systems and functions.
- Strong math skills and proficiency in 10-key.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
