French Teacher
About the Role
This is a remote, full-time position for a High School French Teacher at Indiana Digital Learning School (INDLS), a Stride K12 partner school. The role involves delivering course content in an online environment, personalizing learning for students, and maintaining engagement through synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Teachers work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, and must maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours (e.g., 9 AM–5 PM or 8 AM–4 PM). Occasional travel (approximately 20% of the time) is required for professional development, student testing, and other school functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Personalize learning for all students and maintain high expectations for success.
- Differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels.
- Augment course content using prescribed tools and policies under guidance from administrators.
- Maintain a grade book, ensure academic integrity, and make student placement/promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families, communicating regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and technical issues in alignment with school policies.
- Travel as required (on average once per month) for professional development, student testing, and other school functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
- If certified in another state, must obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
- Residency in Indiana.
- Proficiency in French (required certificate/license).
Qualifications
- Experience working with high school-aged students.
- Experience supporting adults and children in technology use.
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and use student data for instructional decisions.
- Receptive to coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt for excellent student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ability to maintain teacher certification, professional development hours, and fluency in K12 systems.
Pay
Salary range: $46,000–$50,000 per year, with eligibility for a performance bonus. The anticipated salary range for new hires is $26,104.00–$50,000.00, depending on education, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Offers typically fall in the bottom half of the range.
