Frelance Software Tester with DirecTV Satellite Dish
We are Testlio, a global software testing company with our own freelance network. Our freelancers test apps from companies across the globe. For this project, we’re focused on testing a client’s media streaming app, specifically evaluating performance in households with DirecTV Satellite Dishes. If you have one installed at home, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role
This is a freelance opportunity to test a media streaming app, with a focus on how it performs in homes using DirecTV Satellite Dishes. No prior software testing experience is required—we provide free in-house courses and materials to get you started. You’ll be paid hourly, regardless of whether you find bugs.
- Type of testing: Functional, content, and payments testing
- Type of work: Short-term, freelance
- Workload: 2–4 hours per week
Main focus areas
- Validate that assigned titles are available and playable
- Confirm Closed Captions (CC) render correctly and toggle on/off properly
- Verify title discoverability via search (text and voice, if supported)
- Confirm channel availability when applicable
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be physically located in the United States
- Advanced/Native English proficiency for communicating with the testing team and reading task instructions
- Must have a DirecTV Satellite Dish installed at home (subscriptions alone do not qualify)
- Software testing experience is a plus, but not required—free training provided
