About the role
Testlio is seeking freelancers to test a media streaming app, specifically focusing on how the app performs in households that use DirecTV Satellite Dishes. Prior software testing experience is not required—training materials and free in-house courses are provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be physically located in the United States
- Must have Advanced/Native English proficiency for communicating with the testing team and reading task instructions
- Must have a physical DirecTV Satellite Dish installed at home (not just a DirecTV subscription)
- Software testing experience is a plus but not required
What testing looks like
- Type of testing: Functional, content, and payments testing
- Type of work: short-term, freelance
- Workload: 2–4 hours per week
Main focus areas
- Validate that assigned titles are available and playable
- Confirm Closed Captions (CC) render correctly and toggle on/off properly
- Verify title discoverability via search (text and voice, if supported)
- Confirm channel availability when applicable
Pay
- $22 USD/hour
- Paid per hour, not per bug—you get paid even if you don't find any issues
- Paid weekly via PayPal or Payoneer
