About the role
CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) is looking for a Freight Handler Lead who has a safety-first mindset and effective communication skills. This role requires leading by example, taking accountability for your team, and having the capacity to complete daily warehouse duties. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Operations Supervisor. There are no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all team members are on time and ready for work.
- Inspect the dock to make sure it is a clean and safe work environment.
- Coordinate dock operations with dispatch.
- Meet with Operations Supervisors for daily assignments.
- Assist with loading and unloading a wide variety of freight.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience – preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience – preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to perform frequent squatting and crouching to handle freight.
- Must be able to safely maneuver freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart with a force of up to 130 pounds with mechanical aid in various environments/conditions.
- Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
- Must be able to help load and unload full trailers of freight weighing up to 45,000 pounds with mechanical aid.
- Must be able to open and close cargo doors and to climb into and out of vehicles.

Pay
$23 per hour.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–10:30pm, based in Salt Lake City, UT.
