Freight Handler

Role Overview: The position involves transporting freight within a dock environment, utilizing equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and secure freight in trailers. Responsibilities include verifying freight documentation, repairing damaged goods, assisting with freight documentation, and performing hostling duties if needed. Key Duties Handle freight using motorized and manual equipmentVerify freight details against documentationSecure freight inside trailers with appropriate toolsRecoup or repair damaged freightComplete required reports and assist customersPerform hostling duties and comply with all safety regulationsPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferredMust be at least 18 years oldExperience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferredAbility to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and work independently or in a teamStrong communication skillsPhysical ability to lift, bend, twist, and push freight regularly Working Conditions: The role requires working in a dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, noise, and dust. It involves fast-paced, deadline-driven tasks with frequent interaction with personnel.
