Freight Forwarding Operations Supervisor
About the role
The Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in executing Freight Forwarding activities within the Branch Office. They provide support and supervision to the export department, manage daily activities, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise operations staff and enforce company policies and procedures
- Develop and train staff, set and monitor goals, and conduct performance reviews
- Prepare and submit Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS) codes to US Customs
- Create and maintain shipping documentation to comply with US Customs and international regulations
- Process export shipments and design strategies to meet project delivery requirements
- Audit and research service performance issues to improve operations
- Maintain security protocols and ensure a safe working environment
- Consult with suppliers and agents to arrange in-transit permissions
Requirements
- Graduate in any field
- At least 3 years of relevant and recent experience in Freight Forwarding Operations and Customer Service
- Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory
Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of US Customs regulations and international shipping laws
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
