Freight Forwarder, Aerospace

About the role

DSV Air & Sea Inc. is hiring a Freight Forwarder, Air Import, Aerospace. This role is full-time and located in Van Buren Township, Michigan.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate the exportation of goods by air, including scheduling with airlines and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channels. - Prepare and process required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading. - Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers on the status of their shipments. - Manage relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise. - Collaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. - Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws. - All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred. - Experience in Freight Forwarding is highly desirable.

Qualifications

- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates. - Other Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulations. - Understanding of trade laws and regulations. - Fluency in English is required. - Knowledge of additional languages is a plus. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is $20.50 - $27.75 per hour. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
