About the role

The Freight Dispatcher will be responsible for many aspects of the logistics operations at Sandhills Global. They will be the main source of carrier vetting and verification, onboard all new carriers, and maintain frequent communication with carriers, dispatchers, and drivers to ensure a smooth delivery process. This role requires verifying critical shipping paperwork including Bills of Lading, Rate Confirmation, Proof of Delivery, and driver logs, with a high attention to detail to ensure all proper documentation is completed and received. The Freight Dispatcher will also verify load pick-up and delivery while ensuring strict adherence to Department of Transportation and FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and fleet coordination
• Tracking and support of freight operations
• Compliance and documentation management
• Communication with carriers, dispatchers, and drivers in person, over email, and on the phone
• Problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
• Learn and gain proficiency in Sandhills processes, systems, and transportation-related software
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations in the industry
• Assume other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field preferred
• Experience and/or knowledge in the Transportation or Logistics industries or ability to learn
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage fast-paced, high-pressure challenges
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Flexible—some evening and weekend hours required)
