Freezer Associate - B-shift

About the Role

To transfer product into and out of storage areas, pick product for customer orders, and load product to trailers.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer.
• Identify damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation while retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Enter data into WMS computer systems.
• Participate as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings.
• Foster strong team cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes.
• Identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bring them to the team leader’s attention, and work to resolve issues in a supportive manner.
• Understand Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and maintain familiarity with them.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Working knowledge of WMS systems.
• 1 year of related warehouse/freezer experience or 1 year of experience with powered lift equipment.

Physical Activities

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high-traffic areas.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Use of freezer suit, composite/steel toe boots, and other protective equipment as needed or required.
