Freelance Serbian Medical Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, in-person Serbian interpretation during medical appointments and healthcare-related encounters.
• Facilitate clear communication between Serbian‑speaking patients, family members, and English‑speaking healthcare providers.
• Interpret medical information accurately and impartially while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and professional ethics standards.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and professionally dressed for scheduled on‑site assignments.
• Support a respectful, patient‑centered experience for all parties.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both Serbian and English, including spoken communication and comprehension.
• Prior medical interpretation experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures preferred.
• Medical interpreter training, certification, or qualification is required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and active‑listening skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the Philadelphia assignment location.
• Professional demeanor, punctuality, and dependability.
