Freelance Motion Graphics & Core Designer - Complex Bets
About the role
Complex is a platform dedicated to global youth culture and music lifestyle, blending cutting-edge content, commerce, and live experiences. This role involves leading the design of new series for Complex Bets, a new vertical, encompassing various forms of content such as YouTube shows, social media content, and web articles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of identities for new series, including YouTube shows, social content, and text articles for web.
- Shepherd work from concept to final delivery, often within tight deadlines.
- Guide the creation of brand guidelines, templates, and marketing materials for Complex Bets.
- Organize and present creative work for internal and external review, ensuring alignment among all parties.
- Create editorial artwork for use on the web and across social platforms.
- Provide art direction and design for projects across various platforms and media.

- Incorporate best design practices into all creative work.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience working in graphic design, animation, and motion graphics at a post house, design firm, agency, or studio.
- College degree in graphic design or similar practical experience.
- A portfolio of design work representing skill, style, and personal interest.
- The hunger to grow and learn under the guidance of art/creative directors.
- A refined, stylish approach to motion graphics and design principles compatible with the Complex aesthetic.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- The ability to work methodically to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into a post-production workflow.
- Experience with and knowledge of AI tools like Krea, Invoke, Claude, Weavy etc.
- Experience with Cinema 4D is a plus.

Benefits
Complex offers competitive compensation, including a base pay range of $2,000 - $2,500 per week, with actual pay varying based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. The company also provides an inclusive and supportive team culture.
Pay
$2,000 - $2,500 a week. The Pay Range, which consists of rate of pay per hour, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
Schedule
Work Schedule: 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday.
