About the role

The Energy Corps member will conduct research on making the NCAT SIFT Farm more energy efficient and offer better energy functionality. Additionally, the member will work with the Sustainable Agriculture Project Coordinator and the Farm Manager to identify resources and opportunities for expanding the use of energy-efficient technology and conducting research.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on making the NCAT SIFT Farm more energy efficient
• Work with the Sustainable Agriculture Project Coordinator and the Farm Manager to identify resources and opportunities for expanding energy-efficient technology
• Engage in research and spread sustainability-related programming learned at the Center for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship (CSE) throughout the community
• Support programming for K-12 students and community members
• Lead community outreach efforts and encourage watershed literacy in river communities through citizen science, project-based learning, and volunteer river corps programs
• Develop and implement workshops and trainings, and lead other projects which increase community knowledge on transportation design and safety
• Assist with outreach for the Governor’s SMART Schools Challenge Initiative
• Assist in increasing energy awareness through education and outreach efforts to those groups most affected by energy and climate fluctuations
• Assist in developing and managing a community-based plan to create a sustainable culture in Glacier National Park
• Engage in several projects for the City of Red Lodge that demonstrate a commitment to environmental protection and sustainability
