Duties/Responsibilities

• Planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing, propagation, cleaning pots, and sanitizing floors and benches to maintain a clean and productive growing environment in the greenhouses and outside in the nursery area.

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Position Summary: The Greenhouse and Garden/Grounds Assistant is responsible for general greenhouse work and maintenance activities such as watering, fertilizing, weeding, planting, cleaning, and plant propagation. They assist the Greenhouse Manager in maintaining and operating three production greenhouses and outdoor nursery areas, providing valuable hands-on experience.
• Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position: Greenhouse and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Basic plant propagation (i.e., seed sowing, seed collection, asexual propagation).
• Physical Demands: Working outside during adverse weather conditions, strenuous physical activity including weeding, watering, lifting and moving potted plants, planting, driving as needed to perform job duties.
