About the role

Position Overview: As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team (the nation's oldest and largest private member boat club), you will be working with your team of Dock Staff with our large variety fleet of boats, as a key role of an Assistant Dock Manager for the Brandord location.

Responsibilities

  • Help train and mentor all dock level personnel to ensure our members receive the highest level of service at all club locations.
  • Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees.
  • Develop monthly dock staff schedule in concert with the club manager.
  • The Assistant Club Manager should be scheduled on all days the Club Manager is not present at the docks.
  • Ensure all best practices are followed to provide consistent service is provided as detailed in our dock manual.
  • Ensure all dock staff provides the “Red Carpet” Treatment our members deserve.
  • Help establish specific member meet and greet procedures in addition to boarding and disembarking procedures.
  • Accountable for weekly vessel maintenance schedule being followed to ensure all boats are receiving a routine weekly deep cleaning as detailed in the manual.
  • Must be proficient in Fleetio. Submit work orders to the Fleet Manager to ensure all fleet needs are being addressed in a timely manner.
  • Investigate member misconduct, submit all incident reports to the main office, and correspond with members on dock related issues when the Club Manager isn’t available.
  • Absolutely ensure adequate supply levels are being maintained at each location.
  • Aid the Club Manager with weekly paperwork submissions into the home office.
  • Oversee and track fuel logs and vessel fueling.
  • Become familiar with local waterways and popular boating destinations surrounding your club and adhere to all safety policies.
  • Oversee that the boats are clean and members are satisfied.

Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass a background/education check, and drug screen
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Highly effective communications skills and strong customer service skills
  • Desire to perform minor boat maintenance (engine oil, drive oil, filters, bilge pump, etc.)
  • Ability to regularly complete the physical demands of the role including bending, kneeling, balancing and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to read and manipulate handheld tablets
  • Ability to adhere to all safety policies
  • Absolutely available to regularly work weekdays, weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in and around boats
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
  • Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised

Benefits

This position is temporary/seasonal (ends in October/November) and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.50- $19.50, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. This position is salary non-exempt and eligible for overtime. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.50- $19.50, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
