Responsibilities
- Provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the care provided for patients in individual units.
- Contributes to strategic planning and program development and maintains 24-hour accountability.
- Performs delegated duties and functions within the philosophy and overall scope of responsibility.
- Displays positive support for the values and mission of Wesley Medical Center.
Requirements
- Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Current Multi-State Licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtain a Kansas Registered Nurse license within 90 days of start date.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR within 90 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR within 90 days of hire.
Preferred
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) verification course, as specified in policy.
- Successful completion of the Wesley Dysrhythmia exam within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a current employee enrolled in their Bachelors program.
- Three years supervisory experience.
Skills
Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including, but not limited to, administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Possess personal computer skills. Ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritize. Possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
