The HCA Florida Merrill Road Free Standing Emergency Room seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) who can support their unique calling in patient care and fit their lifestyle. Responsibilities
- Document pertinent nursing notes reflecting changes in condition, transfers, and discharges
- Administer medications according to physician orders
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (including phone triage)
- Manage care and coordinate with the primary ED attending
- Understand and apply the Emergency Severity Index 5-level triage algorithm
- Respond to critical needs and serve as a resource nurse for trauma
- Demonstrate management of critical situations and decision-making
- Provide education on medications, procedures, and treatments to patients and their families
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred and required to be obtained within 30 days of hire/transfer date
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Pediatric Life Support (PALS) is preferred and required to be obtained within 30 days of hire/transfer date
- At least 1 year of acute care Registered Nurse (RN) experience is required
- Previous Emergency Room Registered Nurse experience is strongly preferred for the Free Standing setting
Pay
This is a PART Time, Night Shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Rotating Holidays and Weekends required.
