The Putnam Family Resource Center (FRC) is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and compassionate individual to join our dedicated team, providing hands-on care, educational support, and a safe, nurturing environment for preschool children. This is a 12-month position (50 weeks per year, 40 hours per week) in a dynamic public-school environment that offers hands-on experience in early childhood education and student support.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities and routines for young children.
- Support the Head Teacher in maintaining a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Guide and encourage children's individual social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and active engagement.
- Provide tailored, one-on-one assistance to children needing extra learning or behavioral support.
- Work effectively as part of a team alongside staff, administrators, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment OR at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children, showing patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to follow directions from certified staff, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ensure confidentiality at all times.
Pay
$19.69 - $21.72 per hour (based on educational requirements).
