DCU Institute of Future Media, Democracy and Society (FuJo) is a research centre focused on the intersection of media, democracy, and society. We are seeking researchers to contribute to our ongoing and future projects.

About the role

We are looking for researchers at various levels (postdoctoral, PhD, and early-career researchers) to join our team. Successful candidates will work on projects related to media literacy, disinformation, digital journalism, political communication, and the impact of technology on democracy.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• A relevant PhD (or near completion) in media studies, journalism, political science, sociology, communications, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: disinformation, digital journalism, media literacy, political communication, or algorithmic governance.
• Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills.
• Experience in publishing academic research or producing policy-relevant reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Skills

• Proficiency in research methodologies (e.g., content analysis, discourse analysis, surveys, interviews, or computational methods).
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, R, Python, or similar).
