About the role
Responsible for setting up and operating engraving machines, using specialized equipment like beveling machine, laser engraver, and COREL DRAW software, and providing customer consultations.
Responsibilities
- Operate engraving machines to create custom projects using various materials such as paper mats, metal, glass, wood, etc.
- Adjust machine setups as needed for different sizes and shapes of work pieces.
- Use specialized equipment including beveling machine, laser engraver, heat presses, copy machines, and plastic/metal shears.
- Provide information and instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
- Conduct one-on-one customer consultations and provide safety demonstrations.
- Assist with special events to promote engraving/framing services.
- Place orders with vendors for materials and supplies.
- Collect fees, make bank deposits, and submit daily activity reports.
Requirements
Must be available to work a varying/rotating schedule including mornings, afternoons, early evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Comparable work experience with knowledge and skill using tools of the trade.
- Skills in using and adjusting hand tools and machinery common to picture framing and engraving.
- Ability to interpret work orders, written instructions, and diagrams.
- Ability to use measuring instruments and correct flaws or defects in materials and end products.
- Knowledge of properties of materials being utilized.
- Ability to instruct others in techniques of custom framing.

Note: Candidates with Special Qualifying Skills and Experience may be brought in higher than the Step 1 rate of pay, determined by the Hiring Manager.
