About the role

Responsible for setting up and operating engraving machines to produce custom projects. Utilizes specialized equipment like beveling machine, laser engraver, and COREL DRAW software.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts engraving machines for different work pieces and shapes.
• Uses specialized equipment for beveling, laser engraving, and framing projects.
• Provides one-on-one customer consultations and safety demonstrations.
• Assists with ordering materials and supplies, and collecting fees and deposits.
• Participates in special events to promote engraving and framing services.

Requirements

• Three (3) or more continuous years of residency in the U.S. or U.S. territory.
• Comparable work experience in picture framing and engraving.
• Knowledge and skill in using tools of the trade.
• Ability to adjust machine setups and make changes as needed.
• Ability to interpret work orders and diagrams.
• Ability to measure, cut, and fasten materials.
• Ability to correct flaws or defects in materials and products.
• Knowledge of materials used in custom framing projects.
• Ability to instruct others in custom framing techniques.

Qualifications

• Two-page resume reflecting relevant experience, skills, and abilities.
• Knowledge and skill in using hand tools and machinery common to picture framing and engraving.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to correct flaws or defects in materials and end product.
• Ability to instruct others in techniques of custom framing.

Pay

This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees holding regular full or part time positions are eligible to apply for this position.

Schedule

Incumbents are required to work a varying/rotating schedule, including mornings, afternoons, early evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
