Key Responsibilities
Lead Secure Engage’s fundraising strategy, including preparation of investor materials, pitch support, and financial due diligence.
Manage the end-to-end fundraising process—from pipeline development to deal structuring and closing.
Maintain and grow investor relationships, ensuring regular updates, transparency, and strategic alignment.
Oversee financial planning and analysis, including forecasts, cash runway, burn rate, and scenario modeling.
Support CEO and executive team in board communications, KPI reporting, and capital allocation.
Implement scalable financial processes, controls, and SaaS-focused metrics (e.g., CAC, LTV, ARR, MRR).
Advisory on grant strategies, cross-border financial compliance, and risk management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in senior finance roles, including 3+ years as a CFO or fractional CFO in early-stage startups.
- Demonstrated success in leading fundraising rounds (pre-seed through Series A or beyond), including SAFE and equity structures.
- Strong track record of closing deals and building trust-based investor relationships.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, startup financial strategy, and capital efficiency.
- Comfortable operating in resource-constrained, fast-paced environments.
- Proficient in financial tools such as QuickBooks, Excel/Sheets, Carta, and data room platforms.
- Familiarity with both Canadian and U.S. regulatory and tax environments is a strong asset.
