FPGA Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and test digital systems specifically regarding FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technology
• Develop Verilog, VHDL, and HDL designs for FPGAs
• Modify and/or design special purpose, custom RF System on a Chip (RFSoC) boards for real-time, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) missile integration
• Troubleshooting and test support as needed
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required
• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience required; highly qualified engineers with related work experience may be considered
• Xilinx RFSoC experience preferred, and/or experience with high-speed ADCs/DACs and FPGAs
• Strong FPGA design experience in VHDL or Verilog
• Strong DSP background using FPGAs
• Digital filter design and DDS experience required
• Experience using PCIe, DDR RAM, multi-gigabit serial, and ethernet protocols with FPGAs and microprocessors
• Knowledge of basic serial communication protocols: UART, I2C, SPI, 8B10B
• Mixed signal PCB design experience
• Proficient with the use of basic test equipment: oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers
• U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Function in a general office/cubicle setting environment and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment
• Interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information
• May include telework
• May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems
• May move and test equipment of various weights
• Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear
• May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands
• Travel occasionally for assigned work
