About the Role
The Department of Music at Northeastern State University is seeking a highly qualified artist for undergraduate-level instruction in applied double bass, string methods, and history of American popular music for Jazz majors. Additional responsibilities may include jazz combo coaching and general education courses, depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications. Instruction is expected to take place in person.
Responsibilities
- Teach applied double bass at the undergraduate level
- Instruct string methods courses
- Teach history of American popular music for Jazz majors
- Coach jazz combos (as needed)
- Teach general education courses (as needed)
Requirements
- Master's degree in jazz studies, double bass, or a related field (required to teach undergraduate courses)
- Doctorate (required to teach graduate-level courses)
- Previous teaching experience preferred
Pay
- $375 per credit hour for applied lessons
- $800 per traditional course credit hour (typically $2,400 per 3-hour course)
