Faculty Instructor - Upright and Electric Bass - Part-Time

Part-time temporary position eligible for bargaining unit representation.

About the role

The Department of Music seeks a part-time instructor to provide private lessons in upright and/or electric bass. The instructor will work with students at various skill levels and must be fluent in orchestral, jazz, and folk idioms.

Responsibilities

• Introduce students to orchestral, chamber, band, and solo repertories across a wide variety of genres.
• Assist students in preparation for public performances and juries.
• Teach private lessons that generate academic credit, fulfilling requirements for music majors/minors and general education.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in bass performance or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous teaching experience.
