About the role
The Finance Organization at Verizon is building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We are implementing a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization, and enhance opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. This role offers the chance to be a catalyst for change and contribute to the development of leading FP&A practices within Verizon.
Responsibilities
- Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers.
- Drive better business partnering and insights.
- Develop new products and services.
- Develop business case scenarios for new initiatives.
- Evaluate business results and provide strategic guidance and insights.
- Interpret and evaluate monthly analyses of business trends, including budget variance and Key Performance Indicators.
- Assess the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations.
- Develop and assess business cases for pricing on investment decisions.
- Assess capital requirements and develop a capital plan.
- Present and communicate to all levels of the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Even better if you have
- A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
- A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
- A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to structure business cases around a high-level strategic vision.
- Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications, and recommendations.
- An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
- Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices, and International Financial Reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
- Experience leading large and complex team projects with minimal direct supervision.

Pay
$94,000.00 - $180,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role with a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
