FP&A Analyst
Job Overview
As an FP&A Analyst, you will support the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting functions for the organization. You will analyze financial and operational data, develop reporting and forecasting tools, and partner with business leaders to provide insights that support strategic decision-making and business performance.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the annual budget, recurring forecast, and long-range planning processes, including preparation, analysis, system updates, and coordination with business leaders.
- Track key performance indicators, budget objectives, and forecast assumptions to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring leadership attention.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial and operational reporting, including performance reports, financial statements, departmental budget-to-actual reviews, and variance analysis.
- Partner with business leaders to review financial results, explain key drivers, and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Maintain follow-up/action-item tracking from monthly business reviews to ensure open items are addressed and closed timely.
- Build, maintain, and improve financial models, reporting templates, dashboards, and analysis tools to support business decision-making.
- Analyze large sets of financial and operational data, validate data accuracy, and present findings in a simplified, audience-appropriate format.
- Support market research and comparable analysis across North Region markets to identify trends, benchmarks, and business opportunities.
- Automate and streamline routine reporting, data collection, and manual processes to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
- Maintain and organize financial records, data sources, and supporting documentation used for reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting to improve data analytics, historical data reporting, and financial decision support for the NY market.
- Collaborate with internal departments and divisions to gather information, validate data, support reporting needs, and provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
- Support special projects, including contract management reviews, Schedule A implementation, process improvement initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors/master’s in accounting and/or finance.
- One (1) - Two (2) years experience in an analytical role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint.
- Strong Excel skills a must.
- Experience in Financial Performance platform - Vena a plus.
- Experience with Smartsheet, Microsoft Dynamics- Great Plains a plus.
- Experience leveraging Power Query and Power BI to clean, organize, analyze, and visualize financial and operational data a plus.
- Strong Communication Skills (Written & Verbal) & Presentation Skills; Ability to work with various levels of management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets, identify key drivers, and present complex financial information in a clear, simplified format for business leaders.
- Quick study in fast-paced working environment, while maintaining flexibility (ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture, deadlines, goals).
- Self-starter with good time management skills/project management skills.

Compensation
$65,000- $85,000
