  • Track expansion project costs, commitments, accruals, and capital spend against approved budgets and the latest forecast, with clear linkage between source systems, project controls tools, and management reporting.
  • Maintain commitment and accrual visibility across engineering, construction, procurement, and owner’s costs, ensuring period-end positions are complete, accurate, and traceable.
  • Validate capital classification, expense vs. capital treatment, and cost allocation logic with site finance, accounting, and the Senior Manager - Capital Controls.
  • Reconcile project cost ledgers, ERP, and project controls outputs, resolving differences and embedding controls that prevent recurrence.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost-to-Complete

  • Coordinate annual and life-of-project capital budget inputs for the Fourmile expansion, including phasing, carryovers, contingency, escalation, and risk and opportunity provisions.
  • Lead recurring forecast refreshes and cost-to-complete updates with project controls, engineering, construction, and supply chain, ensuring assumptions, schedules, and commitments remain internally consistent.
  • Maintain an expansion project risk and opportunity register with quantified exposures, likelihoods, and mitigation actions, and ensure these flow into reporting and forecasts.
  • Stress-test forecasts and cost-to-complete positions for deliverability, contingency adequacy, and alignment with the project schedule and execution plan.
  • Ensure forecast and budget submissions conform to standards, templates, and timelines set by the Senior Manager - Capital Controls and feed cleanly into North America capital portfolio reporting.

Capital Reporting & Variance Analysis

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly capital reporting for the Fourmile expansion, including spend, commitments, accruals, phasing, forecast accuracy, cash flow, and project KPI inputs.
  • Deliver clear variance analysis against budget and forecast, with concise commentary on drivers, scope, schedule, contingency draw, and execution risk for project leadership, the NGM CFO, and Capital Controls.
  • Build and maintain executive and site reporting packs that translate cost and capital data into decision-grade narrative, charts, and recommendations.
  • Track forecast accuracy across the expansion lifecycle, identify systemic forecasting weaknesses, and embed improvements in methodology and assumptions.
  • Support project KPI definition, dashboarding, and trend reporting to provide early warning on cost, schedule, and commitment exposures.

Capital Governance & Controls

  • Ensure expansion project capital decisions are aligned to the North America capital allocation policy, approval limits, delegated authorities, and stage-gate requirements.
  • Maintain authorization and change control documentation for the Fourmile expansion, including authority-to-spend records, scope changes, schedule changes, and contingency draws.
  • Apply consistent capital classification and cost coding standards across the project to support audit-ready, traceable capital records.
  • Partner with internal control, audit, and assurance teams on reviews of expansion project capital expenditure, providing data, walkthroughs, and remediation actions as required.

Business Case & Evaluation

  • Support expansion project economics, including NPV, IRR, payback, free cash flow, and capital intensity analysis where relevant for scope, change, and option evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain scenario and sensitivity analysis on key value drivers, including capital estimates, schedules, production assumptions, unit costs, commodity prices, FX, and discount rates.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of scope changes, design alternatives, contracting choices, and execution strategies, providing decision-grade recommendations to project and finance leadership.
  • Translate cost and schedule changes into refreshed cash flow profiles, funding implications, and value impacts for use in stage-gate, capital committee, and joint venture decisions.
  • Apply consistent evaluation standards, templates, and economic conventions issued by the Senior Manager - Capital Controls across all expansion business cases and change evaluations.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as the primary finance and capital controls partner to the Fourmile expansion project director and project leadership team.
  • Partner with project controls, technical services, engineering, construction, and supply chain on capital scoping, estimating, scheduling, commitments, and execution.
  • Engage operations readiness, site finance, and project accountants to align cost and capital reporting with operational and project intent and to plan for handover into steady-state operations.
  • Cook with the NGM CFO, North America Capital Controls, and broader FP&A teams on portfolio governance, reporting cadence, capital allocation policy, and consolidation.
  • Represent the Fourmile expansion in finance, project governance, and capital review forums where required, including joint venture interfaces as applicable.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Coach and develop capability across cost control, project finance, and capital governance, supporting succession and bench strength on the expansion.
  • Embed best practice and consistent ways of working across project cost reporting, controls, and evaluation, in alignment with North America Capital Controls standards.

Close-Out & Post-Implementation

  • Support project capitalization activities, including capital vs. expense determinations, asset readiness, useful life assessments, and handover to fixed asset accounting.
  • Coordinate project close-out, final cost reconciliation, contingency release, and retention of audit-ready documentation for the expansion.
  • Track benefits realization for the Fourmile expansion against the approved business case, including production, cost, recovery, and economic benefits.
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and post-completion reviews, documenting drivers of variance, lessons learned, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Support the transition from project execution into steady-state operations and reporting, ensuring continuity of cost, capital, and asset information.

Continuous Improvement

Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects

  • Support ad hoc capital analysis, business cases, and option evaluations for the Fourmile expansion, project leadership, the NGM CFO, and the Senior Manager - Capital Controls.
