About the role
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
Schedule: 5:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Thursday; overtime available Fridays and/or Saturdays
$5,000 sign-on bonus (ask for details)
Responsibilities
- Operate transfer ladles to safely pour molten metal into sand molds on the pouring deck.
- Handle mold weights and jackets, drive a powered lift truck, and support other deck operations.
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift over 100 lbs with assistance.
- Operate overhead monorail system to transport ladles from furnaces to pouring area.
- Adjust ladle height and pour molten metal into molds accurately.
- Use temperature instruments to verify molten metal temperature.
- Move and position mold weights and jackets for secure pouring.
- Push mold pallets across the deck as needed.
- Operate mold release controls for shakeout process.
- Use shakeout turntable to separate castings and remove risers/gates.
- Follow all work instructions and supervisor guidance.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 1–3 months of related experience as a foundry or manufacturing worker required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Exposure to extreme heat and high noise levels.
- Ability to read and understand basic work instructions.
- Ability to write simple notes and communicate effectively with team members.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and resolve basic problems.
- Regularly required to stand; frequently walk and reach.
