Foundry Worker

About the role

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Schedule: 5:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Thursday; overtime available Fridays and/or Saturdays

$5,000 sign-on bonus (ask for details)

Responsibilities

• Operate transfer ladles to safely pour molten metal into sand molds on the pouring deck.
• Handle mold weights and jackets, drive a powered lift truck, and support other deck operations.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift over 100 lbs with assistance.
• Operate overhead monorail system to transport ladles from furnaces to pouring area.
• Adjust ladle height and pour molten metal into molds accurately.
• Use temperature instruments to verify molten metal temperature.
• Move and position mold weights and jackets for secure pouring.
• Push mold pallets across the deck as needed.
• Operate mold release controls for shakeout process.
• Use shakeout turntable to separate castings and remove risers/gates.
• Follow all work instructions and supervisor guidance.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1–3 months of related experience as a foundry or manufacturing worker required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Exposure to extreme heat and high noise levels.
• Ability to read and understand basic work instructions.
• Ability to write simple notes and communicate effectively with team members.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and resolve basic problems.
• Regularly required to stand; frequently walk and reach.
