Foundry Utility Worker - 2nd shift

What You’ll Do

• Perform a wide variety of duties throughout the Iron and Non-Ferrous Foundry areas and in support of the grinding room operation following standard procedures or specific instructions.
• Duties will involve grinding large and small castings, use of band saws, dumping and shakeout molds, hook off and shovel castings, pouring molds, transporting metal, core knockout, transporting materials and/or equipment with either fork truck, payloader, or operation of power vac.
• Assist molder in machine set-up and clean assigned areas, operate shot blast cleaning equipment.
• Repair pouring ladles. Operate automatic floor sweeper.
• Perform minor maintenance duties such as tightening loose parts (spray nozzles, etc.), replacing parts (sprues, etc.).
• Detect and report all defective materials; refer questionable cases to proper supervision.
• Grinding Room duties include sort, clean, move castings and materials as required; operate shot blast cleaning equipment and fork trucks as required; sweep and clean area as directed; maintain equipment and area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations. Refer unusual or questionable situations to proper supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic (Required) Qualifications: High school diploma or GEDA minimum of (3) three months manufacturing experience.
