Foundry Process Engineer

About the role

This position will work on first shift and requires close collaboration with engineering, sales, and operations to achieve Waukesha Foundry’s overall objective of on-time quality parts manufactured safely and profitably.

Responsibilities

• Project management responsibilities, including verifying casting designs from customers, designing pattern equipment for new orders, and interpreting solidification simulation results
• Technical review of purchase orders to ensure shop processing instructions meet customer requirements
• Developing detailed process instructions for legacy jobs
• Communicating process instructions clearly to the shop floor and helping with any issues
• Working with customers and outside vendors as needed
• Estimating processing requirements for castings being quoted to assist sales
• Analyzing casting/scrap defects to assist with corrective actions and process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field
• Prior experience preferred
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and basic understanding of GD&T
• Solidification simulation experience
• Industrial blueprint reading skills

Scope

This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
