Founding Product Engineer
Job Summary
At HumanLayer, we're on a mission to change how teams build software with AI. We're building CodeLayer to unlock advanced techniques inspired by Context Engineering, which we believe can solve hard problems and work well in complex codebases.
About the Role
You will work across the entire stack, including frontend apps, backend services, native executables, infrastructure, and CI. You should have deep experience building in the TypeScript ecosystem and be a 99th percentile Claude Code or Codex user. You should also be familiar with Postgres/MySQL and enjoy working with customers to solve their problems.

- Strong in CS fundamentals - operating systems, networking, data structures
- Know Postgres/MySQL like the back of your hand

- Enjoy hotkeymaxxing - vim, superhuman, RTS games, etc.
- Are familiar with authentication and authorization - OAuth 2.0, etc.
- Located in SF or willing to relocate (we'll cover reasonable relocation costs!)
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience
- Deep empathy for users and dedication to creating a world-class user experience
- 99th-percentile Claude Code or Codex user
- Familiarity with AWS, Bash/Shell, Go, Redis, Rust, TypeScript, Elasticsearch, Linux, and distributed systems
Qualifications
- Strong in CS fundamentals - operating systems, networking, data structures
- Experience with Typescript across the entire stack - frontend, backend, native executables, infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with Postgres/MySQL
- Experience working with customers to solve their problems
- Experience with hotkeymaxing - vim, superhuman, RTS games, etc.
- Experience with authentication and authorization - OAuth 2.0, etc.

$180K - $250K
