Business Development$70k–$100k/yrFull-time

NYC preferred. Full-time. $70,000–$100,000 salary + 0.25–0.3% equity. Early career role working directly with the CEO.

About the role

FairAppeal is the easiest way for homeowners to save money. We are small, moving fast, and taking big swings. This is our first business hire. We need someone who is an athlete—organized to a fault, detail-oriented, and resourceful. You will run the operation and act as an extension of the founder and CEO, working side by side on everything that moves the company: building agent and business flow automations, researching new markets, managing operations, go-to-market, hiring, software development, and data scraping. You will own projects, ship work that gets used, and tackle hard problems. The ideal candidate moves fast, closes every loop, and thrives when the obvious path is a dead end.

Responsibilities

  • Running the operation: Keep the trains running and turn one-off scrambles into reliable systems.
  • Extension of the CEO: Carry the CEO's projects, decisions, and follow-ups, and represent them in their absence.
  • Go-to-market: Handle outreach, campaign building, and determine what works and what doesn’t.
  • Agent and automation building: Build AI agents and business flow automations for our pipeline and internal tools (no engineering experience required, but you must be hands-on).
  • Research: Size up new markets, dig into governing rules, and chase down answers no one else has found.

Requirements

  • 1 to 5 years of experience, ideally early in your career.
  • Strong critical thinking and resourcefulness.
  • Operational experience, preferably managing complex and high-volume operations.
  • Relentlessly organized with sharp attention to detail.
  • A creative problem solver when initial solutions fail.
  • Fast, low-ego, and reliable—you do what you say you’ll do.
  • Comfortable with AI tools and able to pick up technical skills independently.
  • Based in the New York City area (preferred).

Bonus if you have worked at a technology company, investment bank, or hedge fund, or come from an environment where output sets the bar. You’ll take on more, faster, than you would elsewhere, and own the operation of a company still being built.

Pay

$70,000–$100,000 salary + 0.25–0.3% equity.
