Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

What You'll Do

• Lead technical onboarding for new enterprise customers
• Build integrations with customer systems and third-party APIs
• Develop browser agents and AI-powered automations
• Configure workflows and automation using the Wayline platform
• Diagnose and resolve complex customer data issues
• Turn customer feedback into shipped product features
• Persistently partner closely with Product and Engineering to improve the platform
• Become the trusted technical advisor for our customers
• Help define what "Forward Deployed Engineering" looks like at Wayline

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years building production software
• Strong TypeScript, React, and Node.js experience
• Experience designing APIs and integrating external systems
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication skills with both technical and non-technical people
• Comfort working in ambiguity and moving quickly
• Bonus points if you have startup or founder experience, experience shipping AI products, experience with browser automation, experience working directly with enterprise customers, or built internal tools or workflow automation
• You might be a great fit if you enjoy hearing "Can we make the product do this?" instead of "Can you file a ticket for Engineering?", if you like talking to customers because every conversation is an opportunity to build something new, if you'd rather ship a feature this afternoon than spend two weeks writing documentation explaining why it doesn't exist, if you naturally bounce between product thinking, engineering, customer conversations, and debugging production systems, and if you don't mind wearing many hats—indeed, that's what excites you.
