Founding Engineer

About the role

Join an early-stage, high-growth startup as one of the first engineering hires. You'll work directly with the founders to build AI-powered products used daily by design partners. This is a highly collaborative, customer-focused role where you'll own features from idea to production, work closely with users, and help shape both the product and engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship end-to-end product features from concept to production.
• Develop scalable backend systems and APIs powering AI agents and data platforms.
• Collaborate directly with customers to understand problems and rapidly iterate on solutions.
• Design reliable data models, workflows, and infrastructure.
• Drive product decisions through fast execution and customer feedback.

Must Have

• 2-5 years of software engineering experience (exceptional new grads welcome).
• Strong backend engineering skills with full-stack experience.
• Experience shipping production applications or meaningful personal projects.
• Comfortable using AI developer tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Strong product mindset with willingness to engage directly with customers.
• Thrives in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership.

Nice to Have

• Startup or founding engineer experience.
• Background at high-growth product companies.
• Side projects with real users or open-source contributions.
• Experience building AI products, data platforms, distributed systems, or scalable infrastructure.
• Degree from a top engineering university.

Pay

$170k-$230k
