Founding Engineer

About the role

We are building a concierge service to help couples navigate life's biggest decisions together. Our platform combines emotionally intelligent AI with expert legal and financial advice, offering transparent pricing and a shared operating system that remembers key decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship conversational AI experiences that empower couples to make important financial and legal decisions.
• Build the Neptune brain, a shared memory and context engine that remembers each couple's financial and legal history.
• Architect and implement the backend and frontend for key features, ensuring they are integrated seamlessly.
• Work closely with the founding team to understand user needs and iterate based on direct feedback.
• Own the entire feature lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring high-quality, trustworthy outputs.

Requirements

• Experience with React, TypeScript, and related technologies.
• Strong background in full-stack development, including backend and frontend architecture.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a passion for solving complex problems in a high-trust domain.
• Ability to communicate effectively with users and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Track record of shipping impactful features into production.
• Experience with fintech platforms and financial data.
• Previous founding engineer experience or significant ownership in a startup.
