A founding engineer position at Forgepoint, an a16z-backed startup focused on automating the $3 trillion American manufacturing back office with AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core AI-driven features using LLMs to automate complex manufacturing workflows.
• Architect and scale distributed services while integrating with legacy ERP and CRM systems.
• Collaborate directly with customers on shop floors to prototype, test, and iterate on features based on immediate user feedback.

Requirements

• 2-8+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably including time at a top-tier tech company and early-stage startup experience.
• Deep proficiency in full-stack TypeScript (React and Node.js).
• Passion for experimenting with modern AI and LLM orchestration tools.
• A high-ownership mindset, thriving in ambiguity, and taking responsibility for product requirements, deployment, observability, and long-term maintenance.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering high-quality results.
• Experience with manufacturing industry challenges and solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
